Where is this stemming from? Well, recently I participated in an online rpg. That's a role playing game for you outcasts. In this one, it was a mix between the story of LOST, namely the DHARMA Initiative and the party game assassin tossed together with various other aspects of other games and rules. If you want to see it, just check out www.battlefortheisland.com
I didn't play, I helped behind the scenes organizing the game for the players. Although I was primarily there for the graphics end, I did write a few posts and found myself wanting to do more. Even now that the game has ended, I still go back and write little pieces just to amuse myself and the odd person who must be as bored as I.
Anyways, my intent is to utilize some of that games directions and mix it up in my own little way. I don't have a preplanned story in mind, but I have several small ideas I want to get out there. One of them is to include a choose your own adventure style. I fell in love with those as a child and until just recently, never gave them much further thought. One of the other moderators was hoping to utilize this style in the game, but he wasn't able to continue for issues I guess he was having. When he mentioned it, I was surprised, as I had just recently joined a 'Choose your own' site and was very excited by revisiting my youth in it.
The area I am most uncomfortable with in writing, is the tense. I always flip lop around in it, not so much in writing like I am now, as it is me talking to me, but when I try to storyline. If you see it go all loopy, keep in mind again, that I am intending on making sense of it later, but am getting what's in my head out, so that it can refill as I go back and edit.
